Call for 2012 MPEA Examiners

Dear Supporter of the Maryland Performance Excellence Awards Program:

The MPEA Program needs Examiners now for its 2012 Awards cycle. If you are interested, please send the following information to Mike Novak, MPEA Program Director, at mike706160@aol.com or 301-832-0039, by February 1:

  • Name
  • Contact information
  • Most recent experience as an Examiner.

Also please complete and send the attached short Examiner Application to Mike by February 10. This year’s training date is March 7 and the attached calendar shows other important dates for this year’s MPEA Program.

As you may know, 2011 was a great year for the MPEA Program. Southern Management Corporation won the highest Maryland Excellence Award, the Platinum Award. The MPEA Program received recognition from the National Baldrige Office at our awards ceremony when Harry Hertz presented an award to the MPEA Program for its first Baldrige National Quality Award winner, Montgomery County Public Schools. We are hoping to capitalize on these successes to elevate the MPEA Program to new heights, and your support as an Examiner this year will help us do just that.

If you cannot serve as an examiner, yet wish to volunteer, please contact Milt.Finch@marylandexcellence.org or Kathy.Free@marylandexcellence.org. For those of you who wish to help us ensure the continuance of the Maryland Performance Excellence program by donating to our non-profit foundation, please make your check payable to the Maryland Performance Excellence Foundation, and send it to Betsy Jett, Treasurer, 20116 Sweet Meadow Lane, Laytonsville, MD 20882.

Because the Maryland Excellence web site has been difficult to maintain and update, we will continue to use email to keep you apprised of what is happening with the MPEA Program.

Thank you for your continued interest in and support for the Maryland Performance Excellence Awards Program.
