Third Annual Leadership Dialogue
Where
Chevy Chase, Maryland
When
Oct 19, 2006
8:00 am - 4:00 pm
Cost
$299.00
Sponsored by the American Society for Quality - Government Division
Without a doubt, the topic of "Leadership"
is the most common subject for business books
today. From "Servant Leadership" to
"Authentic Leadership," researchers and authors
like Jim Collins and John Kotter work to unlock
the mysteries of successful leadership.
Leadership is a foundation for business
excellence in the Baldrige system. But we
don't see a lot of discussion about leadership
in the Quality Improvement press. What is
the cutting edge of leadership theory and
practice today? How can I learn from
leading teachers and practitioners - and is
there ever a way to get past the "talking head"
presentation, and really interact with these
thought-leaders?
For the third
year in a row, you have an opportunity to
attend a unique "Leadership Dialogue" event,
sponsored by ASQ and the Government
Division. The "Leadership Dialogues"
provide a full day in a small group with a
panel of unique and innovative experts on
leadership. Our panelists have a story to
tell. But the story is also yours to
create, as you jump right in with questions and
discussion at every step of the way.
Later in the day, the panelists join in with
you at small table groups, and engage in deep
discussion about the challenges and
opportunities facing you in your own leadership
work.
The 2006 Leadership
Dialogue event is being held in Chevy Chase,
Maryland, on October 19th. The day-long
session will be held at the National 4-H
Conference Center. This year's presenters
will include Ottawa-based author and coach
Janice Calnan. Janice had the pleasure of
studying and working directly with Dr. Deming
for several years, and she has her own
"profound knowledge" of Deming's later work on
human dynamics and qualitative
measurement. Janice is the author of
SHIFT: Secrets of Change for Leaders.
Also joining us this year is Paul Davis.
Paul is a faculty member at the National
Defense University. He is a long-time
teacher of leaders and leadership. Paul
will be talking about the impact of the "new
science" of complexity and the theory and
practice of leadership. Our opening
keynote presenter will be T. Irene
Sanders. Irene is an author, consultant,
and head of a policy institute in Washington,
D.C. Irene has also worked extensively
with new ideas in leadership and organizational
change, and has written extensively about
strategic thinking.
At just $299,
this is a must-attend opportunity for anyone
involved with issues of leadership (and is
there anyone who isn't?). For further
details, and registration information, please
