Approximately 70% of IT projects fail. This statistic has not changed in the 20 years since such project metrics have been captured. Today’s software development efforts are more critical to company success and therefore pose a much larger risk of business failure. Now that developers presumably have more sophisticated and robust tools for development, testing, and infrastructure, this should not be the case.
Mark Witczak, an expert in Information Technology risk analysis and mitigation, will discuss several specific reasons large projects encounter difficulty during implementation, why senior management does not recognize these risks, and what you can do to bring these risks to light
